At the opening ceremony, Xue Feng expressed his gratitude to Northeast Forestry University for its longstanding care and support of Linyi’s wood‑industry development. He noted that the decision to hold this specialized seminar at Northeast Forestry University was driven by the university’s world‑class research and teaching capabilities in the wood sector, its rich institutional heritage, and the strong, years‑long collaborative ties between the university and the local government and enterprises. This arrangement precisely addresses the practical needs of Linyi’s wood industry—namely, its transformation and upgrading, as well as the cultivation of professional talent for both government and business sectors. Xue Feng highlighted that Linyi, known as the “Capital of Wood Panels in China,” boasts a large‑scale, fully integrated wood‑industry value chain with significant contributions. Leading companies continue to establish operations in the region, further strengthening the industry’s competitive edge. He urged all participants to immerse themselves in study, apply what they learn, proactively update their development philosophies, build broad industry consensus, and deepen collaboration between the university and the local government, as well as between government and enterprises. By doing so, they can effectively translate their learning into tangible results that enhance industrial quality and efficiency, drive transformation and upgrading, and help Linyi’s wood industry shift from “leading in scale” to “leading in quality,” thereby consolidating its position as a national leader in the wood‑industry sector.

Li Mingze, on behalf of Northeast Forestry University, delivered a welcome address, extending a warm welcome to all the distinguished leaders and participants. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Linyi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their longstanding care and support, and outlined the university’s history, its flagship disciplines, and its robust research and innovation resources. He stated that the university will leverage its strengths in academic disciplines, talent, and scientific research to ensure high‑quality organization and comprehensive support for this seminar, while continuing to deepen collaborative partnerships among the university, local authorities, and enterprises, thereby fully harnessing the institution’s role in talent development, technological innovation, and social service.
